All 90 members of Hong Kong’s eighth-term Legislative Council have been elected.  They include 40 chosen by the Election Committee, 30 elected by functional constituencies and 20 by geographical constituencies through direct elections. They will begin a four-year term on January 1.  The Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council said the election was an important achievement in the development of high-quality democracy that is in line with the “one country, two systems” policy.  For more, Zhou Fang spoke to Dr. Xia Lu from the National Academy of Development and Strategies, Renmin University of China.
